Ingredients

  • 1 lb Gulf shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup quick-cooking grits
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Cook the grits according to package instructions with the water. Stir in the cheese until melted; season with salt.
  2. Heat the oil in a skillet, sauté the garlic until fragrant, then add the shrimp.
  3. Cook the shrimp until pink; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve the shrimp over the cheesy grits.
