Caprese Salad
Ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil with good olive oil and balsamic — summer on a platter.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 1 lb fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- Aged balsamic vinegar
- Flaky salt and black pepper
Method
- Alternate tomato and mozzarella slices on a platter, tucking basil leaves between.
- Drizzle with olive oil and a little aged balsamic.
- Finish with flaky salt and freshly ground pepper. Serve at room temperature.
Only worth making with peak-season tomatoes and good mozzarella.
